Dick Fowler
Dick Fowler served as a fireman for Bonneville County Fire District for 26 years. He started in 1976, the year the Grand Teton Dam burst, and became Fire Chief in 1989. In 1991 the Bonneville County Fire District merged with the City of Idaho Falls Fire Department, and Dick was instrumental in the negotiation of that merger. He retired in 2002 but continues to maintain a position as operations officer for Bonneville Fire District.
In the mid-80s, Dick started buying, remodeling, and selling houses, along with his wife, Shawna. They completed house number 43 in 2022.
Dick also served as vice president of the Habitat of Humanity, helping to provide homes to families within Southeastern Idaho, and served on the board for Help, Inc, an organization focused on the prevention of child abuse. Dick, aware of CHC Foundation because of his volunteer work, was approached in 2012 about joining the board. He accepted a position as a director and has served as both board president and treasurer over the years. He finds his work on CHC Foundation fulfilling because he enjoys being a part of making dreams come true.
Dick loves the water, especially boating and water skiing (though he hates fishing.) During the summers he stays active at drag racing events throughout Idaho and into Montana. He has been married to his sweetheart, Shawna, for 54 years. They are the parents of two daughters, a son, and six grandchildren. They live on the Snake River and spend their winters in Lake Havasu City, Arizona.
