Ethan Huffman

Ethan Huffman is a senior manager of Strategic Government Communications at Idaho National Laboratory, where he leads a seven-person team of professional communicators providing strategic support to the laboratory's national and homeland security directorate and INL's local, state, and federal government functions.

In his role at INL, Ethan develops executive-level communication strategy and messaging for senior national security leaders, shapes content for high-stakes briefings and national speaking engagements, and builds relationships with government, industry, and community stakeholders across the region and the country. His work has been recognized with both a Secretary of Energy Achievement Award and a Laboratory Director Award for his leadership during crisis response efforts.

Prior to joining INL, Ethan served as Regional Director for Congressman Mike Simpson, a senior member of the U.S. House Appropriations Committee, overseeing district operations and representing congressional priorities across eastern Idaho. He also led strategic communications and legislative affairs for the Center for Advanced Energy Studies, where he supported five partner organizations and delivered public policy analysis and recommendations to state and federal stakeholders.

Ethan is deeply committed to his community and has a long history of civic involvement. He currently serves as a Board Trustee for the College of Eastern Idaho and previously served on the board of two Idaho Falls Air Shows featuring the U.S. Navy Blue Angels. Proceeds from the 2010 show helped establish the Idaho Falls Mayor's Scholarship Program, and the 2017 show — which earned the Navy's Air Show of the Year award — distributed $120,000 to 12 local charities through a competitive granting process. He is passionate about strengthening the community where he lives and works and is committed to supporting organizations that serve those most in need across the region. Ethan joined the CHC Foundation board in 2026 as another way of giving back.

Ethan has called Idaho Falls home since 2004. When he isn't working, he enjoys hiking and biking the trails of eastern Idaho with his family. He is also an avid CrossFit athlete. He and his wife have two college-aged children. He holds a Master of Arts in Communication and Leadership Studies from Gonzaga University and a Bachelor of Arts in Mass Communications from Idaho State University.
