Sara Prentice
Sara Prentice is the director of Communications at Idaho National Laboratory where she leads a team of over 75 communications professionals.
She is the manager of Executive Communications, Protocol and Tours at Idaho National Laboratory. She is also on a detail to the Department of Energy as a special advisor to the Laboratory Operations Board.
At INL, she oversees a staff of communications professionals focused on supporting the INL laboratory director and deputy laboratory directors with executive communications. This also includes managing the teams that support VIP visits at the lab along with community tours.
As a special advisor to the Department of Energy, Sara supports the Laboratory Operations Board (LOB). The LOB strengthens and enhances the partnership between the Department of Energy and the national laboratories. The LOB also works to improve management and performance to execute the missions of the department and its laboratories more effectively and efficiently.
Sara is actively involved in the community and is currently the chairwoman of the Greater Idaho Falls Chamber of Commerce. She also sits on the board for the CHC Foundation, the second largest private foundation in Idaho.
When Sara isn’t working, she loves to enjoy the Idaho outdoors. Her family, including two small children, love camping, hiking and kayaking in the summer. She is also a huge college football fan. He teams include Texas Tech, Nebraska, and LSU.
Sara holds a Master of Arts in communication studies from Texas Tech University and a Bachelor of Science in communications from Eastern New Mexico University.
