Scott Lee
Scott’s degrees are in Civil Engineering (Bachelor’s) and Environmental Engineering (Master’s). This brought him to Idaho to work for Westinghouse Naval Reactors Facility. Over his 35-year career, he held positions as an engineer, group lead, and Environmental Support and Services Manager at the Idaho National Engineering Laboratory. In addition to Westinghouse, he worked for Argonne National Laboratory-West and Battelle Energy Alliance before retiring in May 2025.
He has been a member of the National Ski Patrol since 2000 and has worked for Grand Targhee volunteer Ski Patrol and the Idaho Falls Nordic Patrol. He served as the Volunteer Ski Patrol Director at Grand Targhee for six years and Director of the Idaho Falls Nordic Patrol for four years. Currently he is the Bike Supervisor for the Intermountain Division of the Ski Patrol as well as the Northern Medical Advisor and Instructor Trainer.
Scott knew nothing about the CHC board when he was asked by the spouse of a manager that he had worked for at the Argonne National Laboratory Site if he would be interested in applying for an open position. He researched the organization to see what they did and who they supported, and he talked with people at non-profits that CHC supported to ensure that the organization aligned with his values. He submitted his resume and was elated to be selected to take over the position previously held by Dr. John Sackett, whom he greatly admired.
He's “pretty much an introvert” who likes to help his kids, friends, and family with “fixing things or building projects.” He tinkers in a number of things in retirement, including gardening at the Idaho Falls Community Garden, helping as a general fix-it guy on call for a number of non-profits in Idaho Falls, working on remodeling projects at his house or his kids' homes, traveling, hiking, biking, skiing, fishing, hunting, and walking the Idaho Falls Greenbelt with his wife.
