Humane Society Thrift Store Updates Aging Heat Pumps

The Lemhi County Humane Society, located in Salmon, Idaho, is a nonprofit no-kill shelter that serves hundreds of lost, abandoned, neglected, and surrendered pets every year. They facilitate adoptions, provide reduced-cost spay-and-neuter programs, and operate a pet food bank.

The primary source of revenue to fund these programs comes from the Rags and Wags Thrift Store, owned and operated by LCHS. In addition to using store profits to fund their animals programs, LCHS also supports people in the community by provided donated items to support community members in need.

The heat pumps that managed temperature control in the Rags and Wags store were aging and beginning to break down - new pumps were needed to replace them in order to ensure uninterrupted store operation.

CHC Foundation was happy to provide a grant to help replace these heat pumps and keep LCHS's operations running smoothly.
