Museum of Henry's Fork Gets a New Roof

Ashton's Museum of the Henry's Fork is a delightfully curated museum that celebrates the history of Fremont County. Featuring displays about mountain men, the railroad, towns, pioneers, the American Dog Derby, and more, it gathers relics together into one place to tell the story of the region over recent centuries.

The museum is run completely by volunteers. Annual operating expenses are covered through fundraisers and donations from community members. When the aging membrane roof began to fail, causing water damage in both the ceiling and the floor, the volunteer board of Fremont County Historical Society leapt to work, raising $10,000 towards its replacement.

CHC Foundation was happy to provide a grant to cover the remainder of the costs of a renovation that will both protect the museum and improve its energy efficiency.
