New Copier Makes Big Impact on Small School
Shumway Academy is a small private school in Rexburg that charges a very modest tuition that covers only the costs of paying teachers and keeping the school facilities running. Because of their very limited funding, additional purchases for equipment can be challenging. When their copier began a long, sad march toward the end of its time in this mortal sphere, and its end seemed imminent, Shumway looked to CHC Foundation for support: Could a grant allow for the purchase of a new printer? The answer was yes.
Director Leslie Blair reports, "A new and reliable copy machine has been greatly celebrated at Shumway Academy. In addition to the practical benefits of having a copier that works consistently and efficiently, it has raised morale among teachers and given them one less thing to worry about when preparing lessons, so that they can focus more on the students they love instead. In the office, our paperwork and information filing and dispersal is progressing smoothly after a year of starts and stops."
