New Tractor Keeps Custer County Fairgrounds in Great Condition
The North Custer Rodeo Grounds Committee is an all-volunteer organization that maintains and operates the rodeo grounds in Challis, Idaho. These grounds are used by local residents, 4H clubs, youth rodeo athletes, and other equestrian organizations. Regular access to a quality tractor is required to ensure that the grounds are adequately maintained. The Committee had been borrowing equipment for track maintenance, but this equipment was not always reliably available, and maintenance had become a challenge.
Thanks to a grant provided by CHC Foundation, the Committee was able to purchase a used tractor that they'll be able to use to provide consistent, high-quality maintenance on the rodeo grounds. Committee member and project lead Myla Naillon put it this way: "We can now be more self-reliant in caring for our facility, with a special emphasis on maintaining the ground conditions in our two arenas. We are excited and look forward to the coming year and to a bright future at the North Custer Rodeo Grounds with our tractor helping make it happen."
