YMCA Renovations Create More Opportunities for Indoor Rec

The Idaho Falls Family YMCA owns and manages an Indoor Sports Complex that is aimed at creating indoor sports opportunities for youth and families year-round. As the facility has aged, it has become less usable for its estimated annual 2,500 visitors: An aging HVAC system needs to be replaced to allow year-round play despite fluctuations in outdoor climate conditions. Safety netting set up around the perimeter needed to be replaced. And the worn, matted artificial turf was creating safety concerns for players. These upgrades would increase player safety, increase the number of months in which the facility was usable, and make it possible to increase youth participation by 15%. CHC Foundation was happy to provide a grant to help cover the costs of the artificial turf replacement, and delighted to be able to attend the ribbon-cutting recently held at the facility to celebrate the new turf's installation.
